Founded by
exchange operators

Lumora’s founders worked in infrastructure, products and operations at the world’s largest crypto exchanges, including platforms processing billions in daily volume.

What we saw inside the exchanges

We saw clients explain what they needed, only to be told how the platform expected them to operate. The exchanges decided what was best. Requirements that didn’t fit the existing product were ignored.

As the businesses grew, they became too big to change. The gaps were clear to the people using the platforms and to those of us working inside them. Knowing what needed to improve wasn’t enough to get it done.

Why we founded Lumora

We had the experience to build a business that could respond to its clients. We wanted their requirements to shape the service, with a team willing to listen and act on what mattered to them.

Our founders bring the lessons of operating at scale. At Lumora, we can use that experience to make decisions around the client and the transaction in front of us.

Our OTC launch

We’re starting with crypto OTC trading. It gives clients a way to discuss a proposed buy or sell with our team, including the asset, size, timing and settlement requirements.

Before a trade proceeds, we confirm eligibility, complete onboarding and agree the quoted terms. The process starts by understanding what the client needs.

What is crypto OTC trading?

OTC means over-the-counter. Instead of placing an order on a public exchange order book, you discuss a trade directly with a desk and agree its price, size and settlement terms.

What is Lumora launching with?

Lumora is launching with crypto OTC trading through a dedicated desk. You can discuss a proposed buy or sell with our team, complete onboarding and agree the quoted terms before proceeding.

Which assets and currencies can I trade?

Ask the desk to confirm the asset, trading pair, settlement currency and network for your proposed trade. Availability should be confirmed before you transfer funds or digital assets.

Is there a minimum trade size?

Contact the desk for the minimum that applies to your proposed asset and settlement currency. Confirm the requirement before progressing with the trade.

How is an OTC price agreed?

A quote sets out the proposed trade terms. Before accepting, confirm the amount you will pay or receive, any fees, the expiry of the quote and the settlement arrangements. An enquiry is not a trade instruction.

What do I need to get started?

Start with the asset, whether you want to buy or sell, the approximate size and your preferred timing. The desk can then explain eligibility, verification and the information needed for onboarding.

How long does settlement take?

Settlement depends on the trade terms, funding method, banking hours and the blockchain network involved. Confirm the timing and any dependencies with the desk before accepting a quote.

Can a business enquire?

Yes. A business can begin by describing its proposed trade and who is authorised to act for it. The desk will need to confirm whether the business and transaction are eligible before onboarding.

Is a website enquiry a confirmed trade?

No. Preparing or sending an enquiry does not place an order, lock a price or create an executable quote. A trade requires separately agreed terms and an accepted quote.

What should I check before transferring funds?

Confirm the instructions through a trusted Lumora channel. Check the beneficiary or wallet address, blockchain network, amount, reference and settlement deadline. Pause if any instruction changes unexpectedly.
